India’s young batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi suffered a major disappointment after being left out of the playing XI for the first T20 International against Ireland. The decision came as a setback not only for the youngster but also for fans who were eagerly waiting to see him make his international debut.

The opening T20I of the series is being played at the Civil Service Cricket Club Ground in Belfast. After winning the toss, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer opted to field first. However, when announcing the playing XI, the team management chose to rely on experienced players, leaving Vaibhav out despite his impressive recent form.

Explaining the decision, Shreyas Iyer said that while Vaibhav is an exceptionally talented cricketer capable of performing in any situation, the team felt it would not be appropriate to overlook senior players who are also in excellent form.

“Vaibhav is a fantastic player and has a bright future. But with several experienced players performing consistently, it wasn’t the right time to replace them. His opportunity will certainly come at the right moment,” Iyer said after the toss.

Shreyas also revealed that head coach Gautam Gambhir has encouraged the players to adopt an aggressive and fearless approach, urging them to play positive cricket without hesitation.

Although Vaibhav will have to wait a little longer for his international debut, fans remain hopeful that the young star will soon get an opportunity to showcase his talent on the biggest stage.
