Released in theatres on May 1, the film emerged as a box office success, reportedly earning over ₹100 crore domestically and approximately ₹115 crore worldwide. It also became one of the highest-grossing Indian films in Bollywood this year. Following its impressive theatrical performance, the film is now receiving an equally positive response from OTT audiences.

Actor Riteish Deshmukh not only portrays the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj but also directs the film. Genelia Deshmukh plays Shivaji’s wife, while Vidya Balan, Sanjay Dutt, and Abhishek Bachchan appear in important supporting roles. Salman Khan makes a special cameo as Jiva Mahala, the loyal warrior who famously saved Shivaji Maharaj’s life.
