Political activist Abhijeet Deepke, who shot to prominence overnight with his “Cockroach Janata Party” campaign, had recently organized protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar against issues such as the NEET paper leak. After his demonstrations in the capital, he later participated in a rally in Jaipur, where he was unexpectedly slapped by a few individuals attending the same event.

Deepke’s supporters quickly intervened, apprehended the alleged attackers, and handed them over to the police. A case was registered, and the accused were sent to jail before being released on bail reportedly secured with bonds worth ₹20,000.

However, an unexpected development followed their release. Supporters and sympathizers of the accused welcomed them with garlands and honored them publicly. According to reports, slogans such as “Jai Shri Ram,” “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” and “Inquilab Zindabad” were raised during the reception. Videos related to the incident have since gone viral on social media.

The Cockroach Janata Party has been organizing protests across the country over issues including unemployment, corruption, and the NEET examination paper leak. The party had also demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding demonstrations nationwide over the alleged leak. The Jaipur rally where the attack occurred was part of these protests.

Following the incident, Abhijeet Deepke alleged that those behind the assault were associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Reacting through social media, he strongly condemned the attack and stated that he follows the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and B. R. Ambedkar. He reiterated that his struggle for the rights of young people would remain peaceful.

Deepke also criticized what he described as attempts to label dissenters as “Pakistanis” and declared that his movement would not be intimidated. He announced plans to intensify the campaign with a “Delhi Chalo” march scheduled for June 20.

The incident has not only brought attention to Deepke but has also made the alleged attackers widely discussed figures due to the controversy and the public reception they received.
