Quetta: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a suicide attack on a Pakistan Coast Guards camp in Jiwani, Balochistan, alleging that 30 Pakistani security personnel were killed in the assault.

According to a statement released by the BLA, one of its fighters entered the security installation and carried out a suicide bombing, causing heavy casualties among Pakistani forces. The separatist group described the attack as part of its ongoing armed campaign against the Pakistani state.

However, Pakistan has not officially confirmed the BLA’s casualty claim. Pakistani authorities have yet to issue a detailed statement on the incident, and the reported death toll remains independently unverified.

The BLA is a separatist militant organization that has been fighting for greater autonomy and control over Balochistan’s natural resources for decades. The group accuses Islamabad of exploiting the province’s vast reserves of gas, minerals, and other resources while neglecting the rights and development of the local Baloch population.

In recent years, the BLA has repeatedly targeted Pakistani military personnel, paramilitary forces, government installations, and infrastructure projects, particularly those linked to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Pakistan, meanwhile, has designated the BLA as a terrorist organization and continues military operations against the group.

Balochistan remains one of Pakistan’s most volatile regions, with frequent clashes between security forces and separatist militants. The latest attack underscores the continuing instability in the province, although the full extent of the casualties is yet to be officially established.
