The schedule for the two-match Test series between India national cricket team and Sri Lanka national cricket team, part of the 2025–27 ICC World Test Championship, has been officially announced by Sri Lanka Cricket. The first Test will be played at Galle International Stadium from August 15 to August 19, while the second Test will be held at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground from August 23 to August 27. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM (local time).
India currently sits fifth in the World Test Championship standings, having won four and lost four of its nine matches so far. With only the top two teams qualifying for the WTC Final, every remaining series is crucial for India’s qualification hopes. Although Sri Lanka may not be among the tournament favorites, they remain a formidable side at home, especially in spin-friendly conditions. India will be touring Sri Lanka for a Test series for the first time since 2017, when the team, led by Virat Kohli, secured a dominant 3-0 series victory. This time, India will rely on a blend of experienced players and emerging talent, and it will be interesting to see how the younger squad adapts to the demands of Test cricket in Sri Lankan conditions.
