New and disturbing details are emerging in the investigation into the death of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal, a case that initially appeared to be an accident but is now being treated by police as a premeditated murder. As investigators delve deeper into the case, several shocking revelations have come to light.
According to police sources, the prime accused, Siya Goyal, had reportedly informed her family members well in advance that she did not wish to marry Ketan. During questioning, she allegedly stated that she had opposed the marriage from the beginning, but her family proceeded with the arrangement despite her objections.
One of the most startling findings in the investigation is that Siya and her boyfriend allegedly searched the internet for ways to commit a murder without getting caught. During a forensic examination of Siya’s laptop, investigators reportedly discovered multiple searches related to planning a murder and evading police detection.
Police investigations revealed that Ketan and Siya got engaged in February, while their wedding was scheduled for November. Despite her reservations about the marriage, records show that Siya remained in regular contact with Ketan. An analysis of phone records reportedly found that the two spoke frequently and often spent hours on calls.
As part of the investigation, authorities sent the mobile phones and laptops of the accused for forensic analysis. Investigators claim they found repeated online searches related to methods of killing a person and avoiding suspicion.
Police have also revealed that on the day of Ketan Agarwal’s death, Siya and her boyfriend, Chetan, met at a café just a few hours before Ketan was taken to Lohagad Fort. Investigators suspect that the alleged murder plot was finalized during this meeting.
A court has remanded both accused to seven days of police custody to facilitate further questioning. Investigators have also found evidence suggesting that Siya and Chetan had been in a relationship since November last year.
Meanwhile, Chetan’s father, Babulal, has denied the allegations against his son and accused the police of falsely implicating him in the case. However, police say that CCTV footage examined during the investigation helped identify the individual wearing a hoodie jacket near the crime scene as Siya’s boyfriend.
The case continues to unfold, with investigators working to establish the full sequence of events and the extent of planning involved in Ketan Agarwal’s death.
