Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and former MLA Balka Suman received relief on Wednesday after the Telangana High Court granted him bail in connection with a case related to alleged controversial remarks on Singareni.
A case had been registered against Balka Suman at the Nampally Police Station, following which he was arrested and remanded to Chanchalguda Jail. He had been in judicial custody since his arrest on May 29 and spent nearly 25 days in jail.
The High Court granted him conditional bail upon furnishing a surety of ₹25,000.
The case stems from remarks allegedly made by Balka Suman during a meeting held at Telangana Bhavan on May 26 concerning the Singareni coal mine workers’ union. Following complaints filed by labor unions, the Nampally police registered a case and arrested him.
Subsequently, several senior BRS leaders, including party working president K. T. Rama Rao, along with former ministers and other leaders, visited Balka Suman and extended their support. After repeated efforts to secure his release, the Telangana High Court has now granted him bail.
The report is based on the information provided and reflects the developments in the case. The allegations against Balka Suman remain subject to legal proceedings.
