It is well known that the United States and Iran have recently reached a peace agreement. International media reports stated that Iran agreed not to conceal its uranium stockpiles from the United States and pledged not to pursue the development of nuclear weapons in the future, following which U.S. President Donald Trump agreed to the peace deal. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a different statement on the issue.

Netanyahu declared that whether Iran accepts the peace agreement or not, he will never allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons. Speaking at a press conference, he acknowledged that he and U.S. President Donald Trump occasionally have differences of opinion.

Responding to a question regarding the U.S.-Iran agreement, Netanyahu said that while disagreements sometimes arise between him and Trump, Israel remains committed to protecting its own national interests in its relationship with the United States.

“Trump has reached a peace agreement with Iran. That is his decision. We have our own interests,” Netanyahu said. He emphasized that his primary objective is to ensure that Iran does not possess nuclear weapons. He stated that as long as he remains in office, that objective will be achieved. “Whether there is a peace agreement or not, Iran will not have nuclear weapons,” he clarified.

Meanwhile, Iran also made an important announcement regarding nuclear weapons. It reportedly agreed before the United States that it is prepared to abandon any pursuit of nuclear weapons.

Netanyahu further stated that Iran’s economy has been severely damaged due to the recent military conflict. He said that Iran’s military industries and strategic infrastructure have suffered significant losses, estimating the damage to be worth hundreds of billions of dollars.

At the same time, Netanyahu warned that the conflict is not completely over. He stated that Israel will continue to effectively counter threats posed by Iran and its allied groups.

During the announcement, Netanyahu also revealed that Israel would allocate an additional 350 billion shekels toward defense spending.

Although Iran has agreed to the peace deal, it has reportedly attached certain conditions regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Iran announced that it would impose nominal charges on ships passing through the strategic waterway.
